Overview
Specialty drugs are used to treat serious or chronic conditions such as multiple sclerosis, hemophilia, hepatitis and rheumatoid arthritis. These drugs are typically injected and can be given by the patient or a family member. Your doctor can tell you if your drug is a specialty drug.
If you take a specialty drug and this program is included with your pharmacy benefits, you can work with an approved specialty drug pharmacy to receive your medicines.
Not all health plans include the specialty drug program. Log in to your member account to review your pharmacy benefits or call the number on the back of your member ID card to verify eligibility.

Check the list of specialty drugs covered by the program. You'll need to know the name of the drug list for your plan. This list may change without notice.
Call one of the approved specialty network pharmacies. Have your doctor’s contact information and your member ID card when you call.
Get refills
The specialty pharmacy you choose will contact you before your scheduled refill. They will confirm your order and dose and discuss any changes from your doctor. They’ll also coordinate your next shipment.
