Group MedicareBlueSM Rx plans from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota can help your employees transition into retirement and fill the gaps in Original Medicare.

What is Group MedicareBlue Rx?

Group MedicareBlue Rx is a Medicare Part D stand-alone prescription drug plan that helps members pay for prescription drugs that are not covered by Original Medicare. Retirees are eligible for Group MedicareBlue Rx if they:

  • Are entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Medicare Part B
  • Live in the plan’s service area
  • Are a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in the U.S.
  • Are identified as an eligible plan participant by your employer 

Retirees must continue to pay their Medicare Part B premium, and Medicare Part A if applicable, if not otherwise paid for by Medicaid or another third party. Retirees may only enroll in one Part D plan at a time.

  • Access to nationwide pharmacy networks

Group MedicareBlue Rx is available to retirees who live anywhere in the United States as long as the employer is headquartered in Minnesota.
