Paul J. Gam

Chairman and CEO of Zurich Medical Inc. (retired)

Prior to retirement, Paul J. Gam was chairman and CEO of Zurich Medical Inc., an innovator of cardiovascular devices based in Minnesota. He also is a partner at the strategic advisory firm of Grace Associates, which specializes in medical technology.

Previously, Gam served as vice president of international development at St. Jude Medical (now part of Abbott Laboratories), where he led mergers and acquisitions, built strategic alliances and drove other business development initiatives of its International Division. Gam’s career in medical technology began at Medtronic, where he was finance director of the Cardiac Rhythm Management business before leading Corporate Global Assurance.

Gam is a graduate of Queen's College in Hong Kong. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA in strategic management from the University of Minnesota. Gam holds the NACD Directorship Certification, is a Certified Public Accountant (non-active) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Gam has been active in the community, serving on the national advisory committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Minnesota Board on Judicial Standards and other commercial and not-for-profit boards. He has been recognized as a W.K. Kellogg National Fellow, Salzburg Global Fellow and Bush Foundation Leadership Fellow.
