With more than 25 years of experience in managed care and as a physician, Dr. Glenn Pomerantz is an established leader in health care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pomerantz has been at the forefront of developing-value based reimbursement models, establishing a proven track record of demonstrating lower cost of care and improved health outcomes.

Dr. Pomerantz serves as the chief medical officer and senior vice president for Care Management at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross). His leadership responsibilities include overseeing all medical and care management strategies comprising the organization’s medical policies, quality and clinical programs, pharmacy and clinical products. Dr. Pomerantz is responsible for leading the teams delivering the medical management programs for all 2.9 million commercial and government members, with a focus on quality and affordability.

Immediately prior to joining Blue Cross in 2017, he served as chief medical officer at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Prior to his career in managed care, Dr. Pomerantz was an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and served as a Medical Director in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center system in Boston.  

A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Pomerantz graduated from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and holds a law degree from Boston University School of Law.
