Blue Cross recognized as a Star Tribune Top Workplace for fifth consecutive year

June 20, 2025

Each year, the Minnesota Star Tribune invites employees from companies across the state to respond to a survey about workplace culture. Based on the responses, 200 Minnesota companies were selected as Top Workplaces for 2025. For the fifth consecutive year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota was named to the list.

“Our associates are at the heart of our Life at Blue culture and the driving force behind being a Top Workplace,” says Julie Loosbrock, chief human resources officer at Blue Cross. “These results support our goal to create a climate where our people demonstrate curiosity, candor, courage, and collaboration to drive performance.”

Committed to culture

As part of the recognition, Blue Cross was commended for its workplace flexibility. One of the top scoring measurements was having the adjustable options people need to balance their work and personal lives.

“Blue Cross is very proud of the success we are having with our culture supporting a healthy blend of hybrid and telework roles,” says Anne Losby director of organization development and employee experience. “We have been very intentional about creating an environment where we achieve our business goals and continue to be a great place to work.”

Blue Cross also scored exceptionally high in the category of managerial support.

“Our people tell us that managers care about their concerns, help them learn and grow, and give them helpful feedback,” says Losby. “They feel connected to and inspired by our mission to pave the way for everyone to achieve their healthiest life.”

Continuing to grow

Blue Cross leaders state that the feedback and recognition that comes with the Star Tribune survey strengthens their commitment to continually improve the associate experience.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to creating an exceptional work environment where our associates thrive, succeed and grow in their careers,” says Stacy Van Meter, vice president of talent acquisition, employer brand and people analytics. “It’s a testament to the outstanding workplace culture we have built, and continuously improve upon, to elevate our associate experience. We remain focused on creating a climate where our people feel empowered, welcomed, and supported in their professional and personal lives.”
