Add an HSA or HRA
Some BlueAccess plans also offer optional health savings accounts (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangements (HRA).
The HRA — what it is and how it works
An HRA helps your employees pay for some medical expenses. You put pre-tax dollars in your employees' accounts and any unspent money is returned to you.
Each year, you add money to your employees' accounts. When an employee sees a doctor, goes to a clinic or hospital or buys prescription drugs, they can use the account to pay for some expenses.
If your employee doesn't use all of the money in their account, you can roll it over to the next year. And if your employee leaves the company or retires, you keep the money in their account.
The HSA — what it is and how it works
These special saving accounts help your employees pay for some medical expenses. You, your employee or both of you can put pre-tax dollarsin these accounts.
Your employees can use the money to pay for some medical expenses and some insurance or Medicare premiums. They can roll over any unused money to the next year. And they can also keep the money in this account, if they leave your company or retires.
