GoBlue is an easy choice

Are you looking for a plan that will take care of major expenses if you get hurt or sick? Do you also want extras like generic drug coverage and a health club discount? GoBlue was designed for people like you.

This plan is a great choice if you are:

  • Single
  • Looking for a low cost plan
  • Looking for protection from financial loss in case of major illness or injury
  • Not planning on starting a family (maternity care is not covered)

You must be at least 19 years old and live in Minnesota to apply. This plan is for single coverage only – family members may not apply together. However, each family member over the age of 19 may apply for their own GoBlue coverage. Blue Cross individual plans are not available for people with certain medical conditions (PDF).

Plan highlights

GoBlue is a low-cost individual health plan that offers great coverage.

  • Health club discount – get $20 a month toward your membership at one of thousands of participating health clubs
  • Coverage for generic drugs only for a $10 copay – check list of covered drugs
  • For the first urgent care visit you have a $40 copay: additional visits are covered at 100 percent after deductible
  • Preventive care covered at 100 percent, no deductible
  • No out-of-pocket costs after you’ve met your deductible (exceptions: generic drug prescriptions and first urgent care visit). Blue Cross will pay 100 percent of eligible expenses including office visits, hospital services and emergency room care.
  • Four deductibles choices. The higher your deductible, the lower your monthly premium.
  • There is NO MAXIMUM to the amount of health care that’s covered. So you are protected against catastrophic illnesses or accidents.
  • Choose any doctor you want, but get the best benefits by using a doctor in the network – see if your doctor is in the network
  • Coverage anywhere in the United States from BlueCard® – and everywhere else through BlueCard International®
