Jennifer Holmquist has been with Blue Cross about six years, and has been able to advance her career in that time. She started as an administrative assistant, then worked as a health improvement coordinator, then became a credentialing administrator, and has a position as a provider eligibility and credentialing analyst.
“The opportunities for new projects and new experiences here have been great. It’s allowed me to try new things and get exposed to new career choices.
Today my position involves working with health care specialty providers, making sure we can contract with that specialty. I spend most of my time conducting research on regulatory requirements, creating process maps, and meeting with project managers and subject matter experts to work through each contracting and credentialing decision.
My career is important to me, and I’m at the time in my life where I’m making key decisions about the direction of my career. Blue Cross has been a good place to set my career goals into motion. They’ve helped me pay for my graduate course in Organizational Leadership. The opportunities I’ve found here have helped me go from ’first job out of college‘ to interesting corporate positions with real learning and advancement potential.”
