Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota

Marketing

Overview

The Blue Cross marketing department plays a strategic role in finding out what our current members and potential members want and need. Then we create products and services that fill those needs — and inform people about our products and programs.

Help promote good health for Minnesotans

Working on the marketing team, you can be a part of the development of innovative health care products from concept to launch. Whether you’re researching the latest in health care trends, developing a new product or health improvement program, or creating ways to tell Minnesotans about Blue Cross, you can feel good about the end result — better health for Minnesotans.

The marketing department is organized into these skill sets:

  • Market research and corporate strategic planning — gathers market information to study demographics, issues and trends in health care, technology and related fields. Prepare analyses to guide product development, advertising, public relations, customer service operations and account management.
  • Product management — manages the development of Blue Cross products from launch through improvement. Organized by product segment, such as individual and family plans, large group plans or health improvement programs.
  • Account management — develops communication plans and strategies to support sales and promote Blue Cross products, services and messages.
  • Creative — keepers and practitioners of the Blue Cross brand, the creative team, made up of writers, graphic and web designers, develop materials to help communicate and promote Blue Cross products, programs and messages.
  • Operations — helps manage the flow of projects including functions like printing and production of promotional materials
