Do you like to work on your own? Want flexible hours? If you’re detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enjoy being challenged, then a job as a membership enrollment specialist might be for you.
You’ll receive enrollment applications, and you’ll help set up coverage and manage billing. Your job will be to ensure that each member is set up and billed accurately and timely. You’ll also play a role in the production of ID cards and contracts. And you’ll handle members’ status changes, such as changes of address or family status.
Receive six weeks of paid training to get you started. Plus, choose the flexible work schedule that works for you. Membership staff can elect to start their workdays between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Teams
The Membership area is arranged into teams that work with designated customer groups or functions. You can choose to work in: government/individual accounts, large group accounts, small group accounts, major/national accounts, eligibility or process technology.
Roles
Because of the range and depth of positions and knowledge needed in the membership area, a well-defined career path is available to those who want to expand their skills and responsibilities. Roles include:
- Clerical staff — perform essential administrative tasks
- Enrollment specialists — update and maintain enrollment information
- Managers and supervisors — manage work teams
- Technical specialists — work on challenging assignments and audit work
- Business analysts — work on projects, analyze business needs and create solutions, document business case and communicate results
Skills we value
Ingredients for your success: the ability to work independently and to be comfortable learning and using a range of computer systems. Some membership positions require using six or more applications. Therefore, you’ll likely be asked to take a keyboarding test when you apply with us.
You’ll also need to be detail-oriented and service-oriented. Most positions have you interacting heavily with members or employers. Because most of your work is done in writing or by phone, excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
