Health Management

Meet an insider

Fred Holmly, a Senior Project Manager in Health Care Improvement, has always had a strong passion for clinical improvement. And today he’s involved in wide-scale improvement initiatives in ways that he says would not have been possible as an “in-the-trenches” clinician.

“Having come from a nursing background, I’m really pleased with what my position at Blue Cross offers me. My role here lets me use what I gained in my clinical experience, and take it to the next level.

A lot of what I do is centered around clinical measurement and performance enhancement. I work with a variety of network clinics, help them measure performance, and educate providers about best practices.

Prevention and wellness are important to me. Given what I’ve seen in my nursing experience, I know how critical it is to protect good health. In my mind, Blue Cross has a terrific track record for making substantial improvements in the health of their members and the community at large. Our outcomes-focused disease management programs, the Center for Prevention’s statewide wellness activities, the do community fitness campaigns, even the on-site exercise facilities for employees. All of these examples reinforce that I’m working for an organization that shares my concern for good health.”
