At Blue Cross, we offer you a career, not just a job. Seeking a challenge? Opportunities abound at Blue Cross to move ahead in the business area you’ve chosen — or to take the skills and knowledge you’ve gained in one area and apply them in another.
Some of our business areas, such as claims, customer service and membership, offer various levels of a single position. This means that you’ll have the opportunity to advance your position as your skills improve and as you gain expertise.
Here are ways in which we support career development:
Education
- Tuition reimbursement for undergraduate and graduate studies — Blue Cross will reimburse a maximum of $2,500 towards an undergraduate degree or $4,000 for a graduate degree per calendar year.
- Self-study insurance programs — Insurance self-study programs are offered by outside organizations, with registration and exams administered at Blue Cross.
Training
- Blue Cross University (classroom or online) — Many classes are provided at work at no cost to you, including computer and business software training. You may take some courses in person at classrooms in your building or the Blue Cross University building in Eagan; other courses are taken online at your computer.
- Specialized technical training for information systems professionals
- Training allowances — The company may reimburse you for approved seminars, continuing education, licensure or certification programs and technical training that are required or related to your job.
- On-the-job mentoring and training
