Preventive care services are one of the best ways to keep you and your family healthy. These services, which typically include yearly checkups, screenings and immunizations, can help you stay healthy and avoid or delay health problems.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota recommends that you talk to your doctor about these preventive services. Please note: A recommendation or discussion with your doctor does not guarantee coverage or a certain level of coverage.

Exceptions
Most Blue Cross health plans include preventive care services covered at 100 percent without a copay, coinsurance or deductible. However, some plans are not required to offer preventive care coverage under the law and some employer groups may customize their preventive care benefits. Before you make an appointment for preventive care services, it’s important that you understand what’s covered in your plan. If you’re a Blue Cross member, refer to your plan materials or call the number on the back of your member ID card for more information.
